Traditional courses cost a lot of money, take a lot of time to learn, and focus way too much on theory. While that is not always a bad thing, it does tend to come in the way of learning many a times. We’ve seen it, felt it, and heard it from more than 1 person, team or company. So, we decided to act upon it.

We launched our Education Platform to fill the gap between eager students and pricey courses. It shouldn’t cost 1000s of dollars to learn something. And in the same vein, it shouldn’t take several hours or weeks of commitment to pick up a new skill. While there are cases where that’s expected (and perhaps even the best way to go), it is not true that it is the only way to learn. At least, we don’t think so.

Basic Objectives

The idea behind our courses is this:

• It should cost you no more than most drinks at Starbucks!

  • A majority of our courses are less than $10.

• It should not require several hours of commitment from you.

  • Most of our courses run anywhere between 30 to 90 minutes.

• You should be able to consume them on the go.

  • Our courses are available on the Web, and on our Mobile Apps.

• They should be pragmatic and focus very little (if any at all) on theory.

  • We are all hands-on engineers, and honestly, do not know how else to teach anything!

Topics

Given that we work on building software products on a daily basis at Snowpal, our courses run the gamut from Product Management, Project Management, Development, Architecture, Testing, Deployment, Documentation, Content Creation, Marketing, Advertisement to everything else in between.

So, it doesn’t matter what you do at work — if you are in the business of building software, you are likely to benefit from our courses.

Interfaces

You can purchase the courses on the Web, and when you do that, they wouldn’t be available on Mobile. You can purchase them on your devices as well (download our App from the App and Play stores), and when you do that, you can watch them on your devices, or send a link to your computer and watch it there as well. It is all quite simple.

Monetization

Not only can you consume courses as a student, you can also publish courses as a teacher. As is generally the case, all of us are lifelong students and teachers. We need to continually learn so we improve our skills, and we should also be able to continually teach to be able to monetize our skills.

With that in mind, we’ve opened up our platform for other Course Creators. If you are a course creator with an interest in monetization, here’s what you need to do:

• Create a course that is about 30-90 minutes long.

  • Get in touch with us to learn the process before you do anything. It’s very important!

• The course can cover most topics. Pick one that you are an expert in.

• Make sure it is hands on, and has crystal clear audio and video.

• It needs to be original — aka, your content and something you have full rights on. We take IP very seriously.

• Once you record the course, we’ll provide feedback so you can make any necessary adjustments to the content.

That’s it! At this point, your job is done and we’ll take it from there to connect all the dots and publish it on all the platforms.

• At the end of the cycle, we’ll look at how much money your course made and disburse your share to you!
